No, not really. More on the Pope Benedict controversy. I just read this very interesting, very well-informed article by Juan Cole, about the speech. A long excerpt was posted on dotCommonweal, and the full thing is available here. I highly recommend reading it.

Good article by Cole. I think Benedict could have had plenty of material to choose from regarding unreasonable faith from our own Church tradition over he centuries, but he has never been comfortable going there. At least JPII could admit some of the mistakes of certain "sons of the Church" every now and then.
Interesting blog. I hope you leave "Basileia" open, because I found some of your articles intriguing. I've been reading a bit of Geza Vermes over the last couple of years, and I find his views interesting and worth discussing.
